[ptx] PTStitcher bug with TIFF_m and files ending with .tif

There are a number of issues with differences in filenames in the GUI vs
the filenames written by the stitcher.

For example, if you ask to save a '.jpg', you get a 0-byte .jpg and a
full .JPG file (on Unix-like systems).  I think that if we can't fix the
problem inside the stitcher, we should ask the stitcher to output to a
unique temporary name, then have the gui move it to the user's desired
name.
