[ptx] Optimizer Crash on Mac OSX - Update?

I discovered and downloaded Hugin a few days ago, and I, too, have experienced Optimizer crashing on Mac OSX 10.3.9 (15" PB).
So far, everything through CP placement seems to work fine, but I have never been able to get past optimizing. It crashes every single time.  I have tried changing everything I could think of, checked all prefs, etc.

Does anyone have any news about this or suggestions about a fix?
