Hi Hal,
Unfortunately the world is that simple. Although, as you said,
the .Net programs do not depend on machines, autopanog.exe depends on
GTK# which is not easily installable on Mac.

Have you taken a look at the text file (HuginOSX/tools/autopano-sift/
HOWTO-autopanosift.txt) comes with HuginOSX? In order to use autopano-
sift, you can either
- use PutAutopanoSiftToHuginOSX.app to put autopano-sift files into
HuginOSX.app bundle, and make sure you do not specify any file that
exists in hugin preferences as the autopano-sift location.
or
- make the script working on its own and specify that script in the
preferences.
