[ptx] debug flags bug

Apparently when --disable-debug is provided to ./configure, the -g 
-DDEBUG flags are added to gcc. I haven't bothered to verify this, but 
someone has mentioned that here: 
http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=48269 (see comment #81).

If you guys could fix this upstream that would be great.
