Took a quick look at this, will look more closely
later though. Just wanted to say that while I don't
personally use Gentoo, We (the developers) would like
to ensure that we are as cross-platform as possible.
If you have any questions/suggestions about hugin to
make it more Gentoo friendly, just give me a shout :-)

A couple of quick observations on the comments in the
bug report:
- Vigra and fftw are no longer dependancies in the
latest CVS.
- hugin does not have any dependancies on java
(although some parts of pano12 do)
- hugin CVS should now be completely unicode aware.
- As far as I can see, none of the patches to the
sourcecode in the bugreport should be required with
latest CVS
- There is a 0.5 beta 2 tarball available on
sourceforge and a hugin 0.5 release is imminent
(within a couple of weeks, hopefully) :-))
