Ok, thanks to everybody's (off-list) feedback, I've made some changes.
The tutorial is now here:

I changed the URL in order to reflect that the tutorial does actually
walk you through compilation from source, and I've also fixed up the
dependencies for hugin, and the autopano-sift build commands.
