In an earlier note I pointed out that there were many problems when running
the latest version on Windows but did not go into detail. This was one of
the of problems I had. But a minor one as there are workarounds. More
troubling was how unstable Hugin was running on Windows. It crashed on me at
least 8 or 9 times in about two hours and I concluded that I was lucky to
complete one stitch with it.

Running on Linux, after I had everything working on my amd64 machine, has
been a totally different experience. Yes there are a few things that can
cause it to crash. But these are easy to avoid (they should be fixed
however) and working my way through the workflow to get a stitch is not at
all a problem.

As to the problem getting autopano-SIFT to run from within hugin on Windows I
don't know since I never got it working. I was running hugin 0.5 beta 3 and
autopano-sift 2.1 so I don't know if this problem was introduced in the
latest version.
