The Hugin stitcher that is in CVS is multi-threaded.  I have only tested this 
on a linux box with an amd64 X2 and it ran great and reduced stitching times 
by almost 50%.  I don't see how this would be different on a Mac or Windows 
machine with a multi-processor setup.
