[OT] Debian on AMD64 (was [ptx] Still JAVA problems)

There is an semiofficial port at <http://www.debian.org/ports/amd64/>, didn't
have any serious trouble till now - other than AFS still not working with
kernel 2.6.x.

I'd love to try stitching on this machine (dual Opteron with just 4GBs of
RAM).
