I have both qt2 and qt3 installed in my system. I'm using RH7.2 but I guess
you can just install the mdk qt3 RPMS from
ftp://download.us.kde.org/pub/kde/stable/3.0/Mandrake/8.0/RPMS/
with rpm -ivh 
If something breaks you can always remove the qt2 and 3 RPMS and
reinstal the qt2 ones.
