<div><br></div>Hi Rick,<div><br></div><div>Like you, I supported the Occupy Sheffield occupation camp while it was there.</div><div><br></div><div>As far as the Citadel of Hope goes, it's empty and closed at the moment. The owner of the building went to court in January and got a possession order. They allowed Occupy Sheffield to use the building for a month - ending on February 21st - so that the UK Occupy National Conference could take place. The building has been empty since February 21st. While it was "open" it was not a public building. It was squatted - a "public repossession" - and rough around the edges, and had to be managed as such. Sometimes people would be let in for a cup of tea and a look around, other times not, depending who was there and what was going on. Indoor "occupations" are not the same as occupation camps in public, where anyone is allowed to be there because it's a public space. There are different issues (safety, responsibility) for buildings. That's my understanding, anyway. It sucks that people blanked you at the Citadel on one of your visits, but everyone is volunteering their time to do these things. It's no one's job to greet people and welcome them in and tell them what's going on.</div>

I think anyone can email this <a href="mailto:occupysheffield@email-lists.org">occupysheffield@email-lists.org</a> address with any ideas, discussions, event or protest details they like. This doesn't necessarily make it "Occupy-led". It's totally public and open, for discussions and info sharing. Everyone is a volunteer just like you, and there is no-one saying what can and can't be said or shared here. Maybe we all need to be clear what is an Occupy Sheffield event - discussed and backed at a General Assembly - and what is an affiliated/related event.</div>
