Why don't occupation records do a cover of 'I fought the law' and donate monies to the kids and their families who have been evicted from their homes as a result of the political protests on the streets of London and other cities last year.<div>

world*. What we are doing has the potential to throw open doors by<br>
providing funding for Occupy projects around the world, getting the message<br>
out through worldwide distribution and creating a democratic alternative<br>
for an industry that has produced music that has influenced most of us in<br>

*We are in the middle of finalising our first release, Folk the Banks, a<br>
folk benefit album with cover artwork by Jamie Reid, the artist behind the<br>
Sex Pistols' artwork including God Save the Queen. Featured on the album<br>
are some amazing artists, among them Ani DiFranco, Tom Morello, Get Cape.<br>
Wear Cape. Fly, Billy Bragg, Chumbawumba and Anais Mitchell. Distribution<br>
is lined up. Manufacturing is ready to roll. Promotion is ready. What we<br>

Occupation Records was created when a group of people who had been inspired<br>
and involved with Occupy London came together to form the autonomous<br>
collective, 45 Revolutions Per Minute, with the aim of facilitating music<br>
industry support for the Occupy movement. We want to use our previous<br>
experience to create a record label that will help raise awareness of, and<br>
funds for, Occupy worldwide. Profits from our releases will support Occupy<br>
financially around the world - all profits will be divided between Occupy<br>
London (25%), occupations across the UK and Ireland (25%) and a global fund<br>
for the Occupy movement and aligned causes. The aim is to help Occupy<br>
around the world become more sustainable as the movement grows.<br>

Financial support will help fund start up costs for Occupation Records as<br>
we prepare for the release of the Folk the Banks - and the other four<br>
albums currently being lined up! The initial funding we're asking for<br>
includes office set up costs, marketing, licensing, manufacturing and<br>

We see music as central to the next phase of Occupy as we take the<br>
movement's core messages - of economic, social, environmental and<br>
democratic justice for all - into communities, schools, universities,<br>

Occupation Records intends to do. Through music we can find new ways to<br>
impact change, steer the debates and get people involved. There are many<br>
artists who want to find a way to help and thank people involved in Occupy<br>

On Monday 13 February 2012, the occupation on Cathedral<br>
Square will be gone, but Occupy Sheffield will continue.<br>
The snow has been fun, but the threat of over ?100,000 of<br>
High Court costs, and the Cathedral's answer to peaceful,<br>
public protest as eviction has made the decision easier.<br>
<br>
Our stand against excessive greed and corruption of our<br>
democracy continues. Since November 5th, thousands of<br>
people have come to show their support for the camp in<br>
many ways. Thank you Sheffield. Occupy is a global<br>
movement, manifesting itself in the heart of this city<br>
with a occupied space that has been a mission for<br>
fairness, a sentry point for justice and an outpost for<br>
compassion. But we are more than the sum of our parts;<br>
more than tents and sleeping bags. We will continue this<br>
process with events, and build on discussions with<br>
peaceful direct action.<br>
<br>
To mark the beginning of a new phase for Occupy Sheffield,<br>
people are invited to a Moving Forward Parade starting at<br>
the camp at 3pm this Saturday 11th February 2012, and<br>
finishing with a free Impromptu Cabaret/Poetry/Open Mic<br>
event at the Citadel of Hope on Cross Burgess Street (near<br>
the Peace Gardens) at 5:30pm.<br>
<br>
Occupy Sheffield will continue to have daily meetings.<br>
Public General Assemblies (GA's) are Mon/Wed/Fri at<br>
6:30pm, 3pm on Saturdays and are open to all. Meetings<br>
will start from the Citadel of Hope on Monday, with plans<br>
for meetings back on the streets in the Spring. Follow<br>
@OccupySheffield and @Citadel_of_Hope for the latest."<br>
